Zitat von Matt Wills <[email protected]>:
I have been testing Horde webmail features.
Blacklist Help says only that "The blacklist is a list of email
addresses known to send email that you do not wish to see in your
INBOX." There are no specific instructions as to what to enter.
By contrast, Whitelist Help says only that "Each address should
be entered on a separate line." Slightly more informing, but
still lacking. Does that mean specific addresses, or do wildcards
work?
I wanted to find out if the Blacklist worked with wildcards, so I
entered "*[email protected]" and set it to put such messages in a folder
I named "Trapped." I sent a test message from my GMail account to
the account I am looking at in Horde.
The message came in to the In box. Initial conclusion is that
wildcards do not work, at least not with the commonly used
wildcard syntax..
I then changed the Blacklist entry to my actual GMail address,
not the wildcard. I sent another message from my GMail account.
Same thing happened. The message showed up in the In box.
Secondary conclusion is that the blacklist doesn't work at all.
Am I doing something wrong?
Whether wildcards work and how they have to be specified depends
on the filter backend. There is no automatic translation from a
general wildcard syntax to the specific backend. That's why it not
further explained in the interface.
Jan.
OK, the wildcard thing was just a stab in the dark anyway, but why
don't specific addresses work?
They should. But you didn't even say which filter backend you use,
whether you checked your log files, etc.
Jan.
Please pardon my ignorance. Define "Filter backend?"
