Verify that you can use aspell with the dictionaries you installed. Edit a file (test.txt) with one correct spelled word and one misspelled word. Use command line to check:

aspell -l en_US check test.txt (for English)
or, for example:
aspell -l pt_br check test.txt (for Brasilian Portuguese)

Also verify that you have selected your prefered language on Horde global options.

Jan,

I'm not sure what you mean by the interface language. If you are referring to either the browser language or the language you select on login both would be English. Is there another setting someplace?

I just know that the Spell Check fails if we don't select a language from the Check Spelling select box prior to running the Spell Check. We've tested this on two different systems with entirely different installs.

don't have to select the language on each email.

I don't see this, spell check is defaulting to the current
interface language for me.
