Using "imapsearch\0" doesn't work on my setup.
Sounds like you are using suhosin, and it isn't configured properly.

No. I'm not using suhosin.
Don't know what to tell you. This works for everyone else (especially
if not using suhosin). Make sure you clear all your caches on both
the server and your browser - maybe it's a stale javascript cache issue.
