think this bug is the same thing I'm viewing anyway, since it seems to
apply only to Linux FF/Acroread.
I have tried every setting regarding pdfs on firefox that I can think
of, tried switching to okular, tried setting it to open PDF files with
the acroread program (not the plugin), I even set it to "Save File"...
nothing works. I get that blank screen every time.
There is something very different about that link. Every other pdf on
the web works (an any of the configs I mentioned), but not this horde
link. There is something different going on with it, I cannot even
right click it and choose "save link location" like a normal link.

I understand you have solved your issue and didn't necessarily think
that this would be the magic bullet but I have found it better to simply
disable the Adobe Reader plugin on Linux FF which actually causes all
PDF links to open within Adobe Reader's application space instead of FF
which is just better all around.

I certainly tried that Craig, I even tried uninstalling acroread
altogether and told it to open with okular... it wouldn't work. I got
the white screen no matter what I set FF to for opening pdf files.
Something was frakked in the those directories I mentioned. With or
without Adobe brand pdf reader, it needed to be whacked.
Incidentally, it had nothing to do with my addons, I put those all
back and it still works, so there was some obscure, stale bit of info
in there. I have been upgrading this profile since FF2.x, so I can
see how something like this might happen.
