I am using courier-imap. Can you please let me know "which parameter in

Don't use courier. It does not support the advanced IMAP options needed to support disconnected clients (e.g. webmail).

Consider running an IMAP proxy between IMP and your Courier IMAP server. It can make a big difference!

Can IMAP proxy and IMAP server reside on the same system?

Sure, just have the IMAP proxy listen on a different port, such as 8143, and configure IMP to use the IMAP proxy port.

I run the IMAP proxy on the webmail host instead, but either way should work.

Thanks.

ANANT.
