What does "does not work" mean?
I mean that if I type in a name in the To: field the list of
contacts that match that name does not appear like it used to. So
... I used to type in "Gary" and get a pick list of 10 contacts
that have the name "gary" in the name or email address of the
contact. Now, nothing at all happens.

Did you follow the UPDGRADING instructions? Did you make sure you
don't have stale browser cache?
I just discovered that address lookup works in basic and tablet
modes, just no in dynamic.
If using IE 8, this was just fixed for IMP 6.1.4.
