I have the following lines in my .emacs: (evil-set-initial-state 'magit-status-mode 'emacs) (evil-set-initial-state 'magit-log-edit-mode 'emacs) (evil-set-initial-state 'shell-mode 'emacs)
as well as other initial-state directives, but these in particular don't seem to work. All these modes start in the normal state.
