The import I mention at
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/US_Forest_Service_Data#National_Forests
in Region 5 (California) is temporarily on pause as I deal with a
death in my family.
I got as far as the initial four forests (Los Padres, Angeles,
Cleveland and San Bernardino) and their 30 or so wildernesses, and
those are complete. I also compared the "new" data with Sequoia
National Forest (uploaded by nmixter a few years ago) and found it to
be about 99.9% identical with these new data, and so it can
effectively be skipped. There may be several other of the dozen or
so National Forests in California which remain "un-updated" by this
intended import, some of which may fall into the category of
"effectively identical, no need to update with newer data," and some
of which may fall into the category of "need updating." But those
comparisons, and that updating if necessary, will take longer than I
expected.
