I'm thinking about importing some hydrology (water) data for Baltimore County, that is now public domain. I feel that waterways make the map more complete, and pleasing to look at. Many of the major waterways in the area have already been mapped, so I'm just looking at manual mode imports of select streams that are not mapped. I can also bring in the riverbank data for larger waterways which are now mapped as single line streams.
My workflow would be something like: bring in shapefiles, convert to osm, simplify, match to existing data, upload. Are there any comments on this idea? -- Elliott Plack http://about.me/elliottp
