So in IRC for dummies. :-) http://irc.openstreetmap.org/
Is the website that people go to in order to participate in the 'live discussion'. And yes, there is other ways of accessing this site (GUI), but the most common way is via that link, and enter in your osm username, and let the page run in the background, and look at it everyonce in a while. .... because there are so many people on it. Questions will get answered quickly, usually with a refering website togo to. And there is other 'sub-discussions' for regional groups, (which would be in other languages) just select the item in the drop down list. Thanks for all the help everyone :) Sometimes its hard to explain the most simplest of tasks :-) ... ie. try explaining OSM to someone who has never seen a computer nor knows what a map is. :-) Cheers, Sam Twitter: @Acrosscanada Blog: http://Acrosscanadatrails.blogspot.com Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/sam.vekemans On Thu, Oct 8, 2009 at 2:08 PM, andrzej zaborowski <[email protected]>wrote: > Hiya, > > 2009/10/8 Sam Vekemans <[email protected]>: > > Gotcha, > > > > I think it's that messy basic webpage that has all the users listed on > the > > right and an open chat. ...an always on chat room. > > Considering that it was invented before the web (www or http) was > invented (1988 vs 1991) it can't be a webpage, but now there exist web > frontends to IRC, one of them is at http://irc.openstreetmap.org/ > > Cheers >
