Hi, I have shp files street centerline with street names of all major

They are done by me and will be licensed as osm needs for public use.

That is very generous. Have you surveyed all these streets yourself?

I have added some details to the import catalog wiki page. the only
issue is the current osm data does have some centerline but non
street names for some cities. What is the options for this do I
remove this data or import over it

Neither of these is a good option. Removing the existing data could be seen as offensive by those who have invested their time to create that data (plus there is no guarantee that your data is actually better than what's there). You should only remove data if it is in really bad shape, or if those who have created it agree with the removal. Importing over existing data isn't a good option either, it will mess up the map and create lots of quality problems.

Ideally, you should only upload your new data where nothing already exists, and amend the existing data elsewhere. If that is too much work for one person, split up your data set and let different people work on different chunks of it. It doesn't have to be over in one day.
