I do think the bulk delete is cleaner, however, the history clutter objections seem strong. --------------- JOSM presently silently discards the following keys: "created_by", "tiger:upload_uuid", "tiger:tlid", "tiger:source", "tiger:separated", "geobase:datasetName", "geobase:uuid", "sub_sea:type", "odbl", "odbl:note", "SK53_bulk:load", "yh:LINE_NAME", "yh:LINE_NUM", "yh:STRUCTURE", "yh:TOTYUMONO", "yh:TYPE", "yh:WIDTH_RANK" --------------- The proposed approach is to have JOSM highlight keys to be discarded in light pink (no matter if loaded or typed). This is meant to alert the human editor to the otherwise invisible delete on upload. I think this is better than deleting on download: you get to see the data and (if it's valuable to you) move it to safer tags. Other editors might choose a different solution.
