According to that page you plan on tagging all those place=hamlet based on the the fact that the majority of existing place nodes in the area are hamlets. That does not seem like a good idea. A quick look over the names indicates a large variety of place sizes (names consisting of elements like Farm, Mill, Camp, Village, Town) - the least that should be done in terms of pre-processing is an assessment which OSM categories these usually match and apply tags according to such name components. This is no replacement for manual evaluation but with 14000 objects skipping such a really simple step would be a waste of ressources. For all places where no individual indication on the type of place exists no place=* tag or a generic one (like place=yes or place=unknown) should be used by default (possibly with a fixme tag). This would also help those participating in this import to keep track of their manual verification work. -- Christoph Hormann http://www.imagico.de/ _______________________________________________ Imports mailing list [email protected] https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/imports
