In The Netherlands, we imported buildings and addresses from a government data source a few years ago.

We have tooling that compares the Osm data for these objects to a monthly update of the government data.

At the moment, the results of this comparison are used by mappers to semi-manually add new objects, or remove old ones. Changes in geometry (the larger ones) are updated sporadically.

One user keeps track of updates of place and municipality borders (and names of course).
