did they give you coordinates and addresses? Because I would expect the 
addresses to be quite reliable, while the coordinates will likely come from 
Google or another commercial geocoding provider, and will not be as reliable, 
typically. Also there could be a licensing problem in this case.

As you didn't collect the points yourself you will have to follow the import 
procedure: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Import/Guidelines
in particular make the data available for general inspection before uploading 
it.
