Hello Michael,

Thank you for your message. I really appreciate the time you have taken to look
into our process and edits. You are correct that we did edit our wiki, which we
have done multiple times since we posted to reflect changes in the process,
team and sometimes to clarify things when we get questions. As I understand,
wiki's are living documents for those exact reasons.

While I do understand adding sources to objects instead changesets is an
outdated method for some, there are community members who still prefer it. We
are almost half way completed with Thailand and have added 77 000 ways already.
We also spent two months sharing samples along with me traveling to Thailand to
meet the community. This was not an issue for the Thailand community. Because
this is a new way of adding data, my goal is to be as transparent as possible
and knowing exactly which way has been generated by us helps. We can also
quickly resolve any issues raised by doing this. If more people feel this way I
am happy to change.

As for sharing code for tooling, my small team is working very hard to get it
out soon. We are taking extensive measures to make sure it's done right, but I
hope you can understand the complexity behind releasing code and be patient
with us.

Thank you again! As always you can reach me or my team via these posts or
e-mail [email protected]. Please forgive any delays in response as I will be
travelling to State of the Map US.

Best,
Drishtie

    Hi,

    the AI assisted road tracing (import) by Facebook in Thailand was
    discussed on this mailing list in March [1]. The wiki site the
    discussion was based on was changed by user Samuelestrabrook (seems to
    be affiliated with Facebook because the site was created by this user)
    today. [2]

https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/w/index.php?title=AI-Assisted_Road_Tracing&type=revision&diff=1515861&oldid=1514874

    The version the discussion was based on said that the *changesets* will
    have following tags:
    comment = "#nsroadimport #thailand"
    source = digitalglobe
    import = yes

    The edit by Samuelestrabrook added the subheading "Element tags" above
    "source" and therefore the wiki page matches the edits being done but is
    a slient and unfriendly attempt to circumvent our discussion.

    @Facebook If you do a mistake and admit that mistake, it won't be a
    problem. But silently changing the documentation to hide your mistake is
    not ok.

    Adding sources to objects instead changesets is an outdated method. Just
    have a look in all the other import discussions on this mailing list.
    Such metadata should be added to the changesets.

    I myself forgive you that your iD instance did not set this tags but
    please pause your import until your tools are fixed and comply with the
    discussed import.

    Please forward this request to all user accounts affiliated with this
    import.

    @Facebook You wrote on 2017-03-21 that you will share the tools you use
    (except the AI stuff). [3] Your wiki page does not contain any link to a
    code repository. You must honour your promises made in an import
    discussion. Otherwise the discussion is a farce! Where is the code?

    Best regards

    Michael

    PS Changes of the wiki page where discovered by user gormo.

    fixes.
