1. Select the new object, and do an Edit menu/Cut Objects. 2. Select the group you want to add the object to. 3. Select *Edit Group* in the Object menu. 4. Do an Edit menu/Paste Objects (the object now becomes part of the group). 5. Select *Stop Editing Group* in the Object menu. The group's name and ID will be retained.
