The problem is the traffic it would cause on the sender's DNS server. All
of the proposals impact the sender domain's DNS server in some fashion.
okay, well, as xp and 2k cache dns, the impact should be minimal shouldn't it?
Some people believe that "shifting bandwidth costs" back to the sender in
this fashion is wrong. Personally, I think the idea of senders paying more
to send mail is a good thing. How much of a cost, on the other hand, is
something that needs determining, hence this survey.
i have absolutely no problem at all with pulling a t1 in here just for dns,
if it will stop the @[EMAIL PROTECTED]@#! spam problem.

So I'm looking at the message ID, date and time, size, (what's the 133?),
MAIL FROM and RCPT TO? To this I also need added the source IP and the HELO
or EHLO hostname, which are normally available in the SMTPRS log.
okay, i don't have logs going back nearly as far, but if you want i can
provide what i have, or i could just run your plugin for a while..
actually, if you like, i'll run it and give you ftp access to the logfiles,
and you can do whatever you want with them...
