(Apologies to everyone who will see this twice; I did shorten this version some. Discussion probably should be on the Trash Finder list.) I'll just touch on each topic: * Beta period over. Trash Finder's endless beta is now over. Among other effects, that means that the Trash Finder mailing list is now open for public subscribe and unsubscribe. Send a message "Subscribe Trash_Finder" to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" to join. * Trash Finder web pages are now up on the R.R. Software web site. See http://www.rrsoftware.com/html/prodinf/tf/tf-main.html. * Trash Finder is now two products: Trash Finder Classic and Trash Finder Professional. * Trash Finder Classic is available as a free download. It's essentially the same as the 5th and 2/3rds beta (other than license and readme files), so don't rush to download it. Feel free to put the file on the various IMS repositories, but please keep a link to the web site on the appropriate page. * Trash Finder Professional is available by subscription. The subscription is *very* reasonable: $50 for the first year, for up to 10 computers. (I doubt anyone is running more than 10 mail servers). Also note that the software license does not expire; you can continue using TF Pro forever if you decide not to renew (hopefully, you'll only do that if I'm not providing enough value for the subscription). * Trash Finder Professional has been released. (Of course, no one can tell, as no one has a subscription yet.) As previously discussed, it has the Viewer with built-in domain and word analyzers, disk-based domain and IP filters (which are faster, have a much larger capacity, and can be remotely updated with the Viewer), the unknown words filter (to catch and block all of those messages primarily consisting of gibberish), the To and Subject pass filters, and more. I use it to *delete* about 88% of my incoming mail stream, which has saved lots of time wading through junk. Randy Brukardt This is the discussion list for the IMS Free email server software.
