I have had this issue periodically and have never seemed to come up with
a definite answer. I am running smtprcv for the receiving agent and
have multiple domains set up with user multiple accounts. The issue is
bringing up a new domain that you only want, lets say admin@ and info@
to work. The only way I can seem to get it to work is to put the domain
in the 'accept mail for' list of smtprcv at which time all users of the
other domains can then receive mail with their user at that domain. I
have tried placing an entry in the plugin1.dat file for aliasing admin@
and info@ for that domain to point to valid users, but without it in the
'accept mail for' list in smtprcv, the sender receives a 'relaying
denied' message. I know I could solve this with a *@<domain name> alias
to the trash, but I would rather reject at the door and not have to sort
through the messages. Any suggestions?
As a side note, when smtprcv is used, what consequences does the list of
valid domains in the emwac ims control panel applet have? Is this no
longer used as it was used only by the ims smtp receiver?
Thanks,
Greg
