I have
had this happen a few times to me, and what I do is this:
1) Stop SCSMFILTER
2) Run
TLIST looking for Tr_Finder, TrashFinder threads still running and try to
shut them down with STOP or KILL, (and finally KILL /F)
commands.
3)
Open Regedit goto: HKLM\Software\AXE\Trash-Finder
If you will see a $LOCK key (folder). I just delete that, and
then I am able to re-run the Trashfinder again.
Restart SCSMfilter....
I have also been successful in just deleting the $LOCK
key without doing the rest.... but I have no idea what that does with the
current running sessions.
If Randy has a better method, it might be
best to check with him !
As
always try at your own risk, I am not taking responsibility for anything that
happens as a result of this information !

Subject: RE: Help - TRFINDER.EXE will not runHello,OK, Everyone can stand down now. :-)I seem to have solved the problem.I did a chkdsk c: /f and it found nothing.I replaced every Trashfinder file and still had the problem.I did a total uninstall of Trashfinder (renamed the registry entries)Reinstalled with all new files from the original zip.Copied the files from a Filter_Data backup I had made back into Filter_Data.Bingo it started working again. It seems to me that something in the registry got "bunged" up.From now on if the server case just gets dusty I will do a total re-install of Trashfinder first thing and see if that fixes it before I do anything else.Mike

Subject: Help - TRFINDER.EXE will not runHello,Well TRFINDER.EXE runs but does not present a user interface. I can see it in the list of processes in task manager. It is taking sometimes 10 minutes for Trash_fi.exe to pass the mail out of prein (time-out?). I see many instances of Trash_fi.exe in processes in task manager. They eventually process the email to the trash folder. Up until yesterday it processed them almost immediatelyTrash_fi.exe/tfviewer.exe is not deleting SPAM. If I do "Analyze Spam" in viewer it shows items that are marked permanent and delete. I can delete them from tfviewer.exe or manually. I am having to manually delete spam from spam engines I have not seen in months. From the spam.log:Sat Jun 19 12:45:13 2004 c:\emwacs\MAIL\prein\B0000447238.MSG trashed, filter xanax detected in headder

Sat Jun 19 12:45:14 2004 Plugin C:\Emwacs\mfilter\Trash_Fi.exe Timed out & terminated.I do not know of anything I have changed except for adding in ip's and domains as usual.I have rebooted.I have tried going back to the previous version of trashfinder. Stopped everything, copied the old version back in there and restarted services.I cannot get into TRFINDER.EXE to change any settings in there.I am running TrashfinderPro 1.01Nothing is unsual in the event viewer.Any Ideas would be appreciated.Mike Gilbert
