Don,

I have my IMS on a 2000 Server set also as an AD Domain Controller.
When I did mine, instead of a local group, I setup my IMSusers as a GLOBAL
Security Group, and gave that group "local security, domain, and domain
controller policies" that allow "logon as a batch" and "logon locally".
That might have been overkill, but I too must have had some issues when I
first set that up, and that seemed to solve them. I also use the
"getusers.exe" program to verify that IMSusers group is working correctly.

My IMS has been working flawlessly since I installed 2000 for about 3
1/2 years now. At the beginning of the year, I created a new machine,
installed all of IMS, and copied all of the files and installations over
from the old server to the new, and had no issues since I set it up with
domain security instead of locally.

The only issue that made me crazy recently, was when I installed a new
2003 server for IIs WEB & FTP services. IIs defaults to local security,
instead of getting security authentication from your domain, requiring that
you run a script to change metadata information and registry settings to
your default domain (see knowledgebase article 310723).

Hope this helps...
