Hi, Randy. We currently use TF and we really like it!
What are the advantages of TF Pro? Does it support the full SPF protocol? How much does it cost? The fix is to check messages as they comes in, and for AVP to consider mail from any domain that lists its mail server's address as 127.0.0.1 as spam, and to trash or discard it, as you choose. Trash Finder Pro has had this filter (as part of the SPF checks) for some time. Note that your filter isn't strong enough; any IP 127.0.0.1/8 is considered "yourself", and I've seen spammers use other such IPs -- which would cause the same looping. Trash Finder Pro filters on *any* non-public Internet address, as none of them should ever be used for MX (or A, for that matter) records. Of course, like all TF filters, it can be turned off if it is causing problems (I haven't heard of any). Randy. This is the discussion list for the IMS Free email server software.
