Could it be a DNS problem? I ran a DNS test on dreamworld.org using the DNS Report facility at http://www.dnsreport.com and it reported several errors.
Might be worth putting them right. It sits |in "holding", I guess until it times out. | |One of the troublesome domains is yahoo. I'll use it as an example, |but there are several that have the same problem. Just remember, |yahoo = bad. | |If I telnet from my server yahoo's port 25, using the IP addr listed |in domain.mri, I can send an email to my account there. That tells |me the I'm not blacklisted or the like. | |It also tells me that it's SMTPDS that could be having the problem. | |Also, if I send an email to yahoo from my gmail account, it gets |through. I can also send from my dreamworld domain to gmail with no |problem. | |It's from dreamworld to yahoo (and other bad domains) that's not |getting through. | |Doesn't matter if the mail to Yahoo is from my mailing lists, or a |straight email from an individual account, it doesn't get through. | |If I look in outlog, it does show mail going out to these domains, |and maybe 1% of these emails to yahoo indeed gotten through since the |trouble started. But 99% are sitting in 'holding'. | |Again, absolutely nothing changed in the server. | |I used nslookup and SamSpace and am able to resolve yahoo and their |mail servers from dreamworld. | |I tried stopping the SMTPDS service, deleting the MRIs and |restarting. I also tried rebooting. Still not going out. | |I checked my DNS setup and made sure that my SMTP server was fully |qualified and reversed, it is smtp.dreamworld.org at 66.80.5.230, |although I am weak on reading DNS output. | |Does anyone know what else I can try to debug this problem? Thanks! | |Here's a copy of my yahoo mri as one example. | |* * * | |Domain-name: yahoo.com |Last-tried: 1162053969 |Try-number: 3 |Mx-host: mx2.mail.yahoo.com |Mx-preference: 1 |Mx-status: 0 |Mx-expires: 1162061150 |Mx-ip-address: 4.79.181.135 |Mx-host: mx1.mail.yahoo.com |Mx-preference: 1 |Mx-status: 0 |Mx-expires: 1162061150 |Mx-ip-address: 67.28.113.73 |Mx-host: mta-v1.mail.vip.re3.yahoo.com |Mx-preference: 5 |Mx-status: 0 |Mx-expires: 1162061150 |Mx-ip-address: 66.196.97.250 |Mx-host: mx3.mail.yahoo.com |Mx-preference: 1 |Mx-status: 0 |Mx-expires: 1162061150 |Mx-ip-address: 67.28.113.71 | | |-- |_/_/_/ Alfredo Jacobo Perez Gomez ([EMAIL PROTECTED] ) _/_/_/ |_/_/_/ Home Page http://www.dreamworld.org/alfredo _/_/_/ |_/_/_/ El Salvador / Costa Rica / San Francisco, USA _/_/_/ This is the discussion list for the IMS Free email server software.
