Thank you Ted for replying !
Last night I spent several hours after work, pouring through the
5200+ spam messages and discovered that my anti-relay was turned off, which
was allowing spammers to submit this garbage to my server to begin with,
fortunately, trashfinder intercepted 99% of it anyway.
I re-read the smtprcv config.txt files again and figured out how to
add blacklists, then tried bl.spamcop.net but found it too restrictive with
Gmail, Yahoo, & Hotmail, then I tried Spamhaus. The zen.spamhaus.net was
picking up some kind of previous exploit from a Gmail user when I tried to
send from my account, so then I tried the sbl.spamhaus.net, and it seems to
be much better. It accepted mail from all 3 of my outside test accounts on
Gmail, Yahoo, and Hotmail.
Since I started running with this configuration, I am ecstatic about
the results, as I am getting only clean messages, and none of the garbage I
have spent thousands of hours removing by hand.
I will also try cbl.abuseat.org also, and see how they are treating
Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, as well as ISP's Comcast.net, Aol.com, Msn.com etc.,
as the biggest problem I have with blacklists is they become too restrictive
with carriers (that spammers try to use) and wind up blocking way to many
legitimate users also.
Thank you for your help.
Sincerely,
John Martoccio

using DNS blacklists or Spam Trap ?
I had to look, but I have SMTPRcv using 1 DNS blacklist. cbl.abuseat.org and
the settings are stored in a key in the registry, but I set it up with teh
RCVpanel.exe tool I think. I have never used the SPAM trap. I also run
TrashFinder as well, for most of the SPAM filtering.
