Kaustubh Sorry but pls do not confuse the issue PC MacLan was required to make Windows machines to understand the AppleTalk network protocols which were used widely by Apple in the Pre-OSX days. Now that Mac has adopted SAMBA or "smb://"protocols this no longer required
Miramar's PC MACLAN used to install AppleTalk on WIndows machines and this software used to take automatically take care of the user name / password issues what which "Mac Fan" is facing. PC MACLAN however has its own issues and would not suggest Mac Fan to adopt it. Incidently, I came to know of the workaround I suggested to Mac Fan from some Unix guys many years ago. I understand that all Unix variants had the same problem with Windows 98 at that time and I guessed the same workaround would work for Mac OSX-Win98 and it did!
