Hey everyone, Thanks to everyone who attended the first Mumbai Mac Meetup at the Imagine Store at Inorbit. It was schedule for only an hour, but with everyone contributing it ended up going on for 2 hours and probably more had we not stopped.
I didn't take great notes so what I provide below is a summary of what was talked about. Each person gave a brief description of their Apple setup and then talked about some of the apps and utilities they love to use. Manish Went through his Application folder and highlighted some of the programs he uses: - Backdrop.app - a simple utility to fill your screen with a giant blank window. http://www.johnhaney.com/backdrop/ - Senuti - allows you to copy content FROM an iPod to your computer. http://www.fadingred.com/senuti/ - SuperDuper - create BOOTABLE backups and can be used with Time Machine. http://www.shirt-pocket.com/ - Transmission - simple to use BitTorrent client. http://www.transmissionbt.com/ - Things - easy to use to-do list and organizer based on the Getting Things Done methodology. http://culturedcode.com/ Talked about iTunes - You can create a US based iTunes account without a credit card. Goto the iTunes app store and select a free application and start the process of registering. - The two podcasts that were recommend, one for technology and for one start-ups.
