I just moved from an iPhone 3g to a Nexus One. So I can give a first hand account of the comparison. Although I must add that how good a product is and how good its sales are, are unfortunately two different things. I'm sure we all have come across several products that we feel are very good but somehow did not do well in the marketplace - whether its a music album, a perfume brand, or even a food item. And we all know, if there's one thing apple does well, it is design and marketing (actually make that two things).
So without challenging Monik's sales numbers, problem with their online only sales model etc, I can tell you as a user that the Nexus one is a pretty good phone. Is it miles ahead of the iPhone? Perhaps not, but is it a serious alternative? Heck yes. Its lighter and smaller than the iPhone so feels much better in the hand, the hardware finish is great, the screen is great etc. I have written a detailed account of my experience at http://chordsoflife.wordpress.com/2010/01/17/google-nexus-one-vs-iphone-3g/. There is NO perfect smartphone, but the N1 makes more things better than the iPhone than vice versa. So if I have to summarise I would say perhaps the iPhone wins on Sex Appeal and ease of use, but as a smartphone that addresses many features missing in the iPhone, N1 is definitely better. But I agree that iPhone 4 would be very very interesting to watch :-) On Jan 18, 4:36 pm, Rishi <[email protected]> wrote: > Begin forwarded message: > > > > > Date: January 14, 2010 10:09:15 PM GMT+05:30 > > Subject: The failure of Nexus one begins now : Cannot survive against > > iPhone? > > Source: Etiole > > Author: Monik > > > Nexus one was so much hyped.
