I was eagerly waiting to get the new iMac 27". Now that it's been launched, I'm stumped.
In the previous model, the iMac 27" Quad Core model was 1,06,900 while the international price was $1999. While the international price is still the same, the new Quad Core in India is priced at 1,23,900 !! The core i3 model available for $1699 has been priced at 1,05,900 - while the previous equivalent model was only 89,900. Prices have also been increased for the 21.5" models by about Rs. 10,000 - only in India. When the dollar value, duties & tax rates etc haven't changed, why is Apple increasing prices? BTW - if I can get a suitcase big enough to fit a 27" iMac, for the Rs. 123900 price - I can goto Hongkong, stay there for a couple of night, have fun and get the iMac from there. Is it possible the high prices are temporary - till old stock sells - and then prices would be reduced ? -- IMUG Users website: www.imug.in
