Not having used my iPad for 3-4 days, I am surprised now to see that even the 10-second pressing of the Home-Key is failing to start-up the iPad. Just getting a message regarding iCloud Backup. Battery shows a respectable 77%
Have even tried the 'trick' of connecting it to my desktop and then attempting the Home-Key press.
