Hi

A friend wanted to upgrade their iMac with Mountain Lion and CS3 to CS6.

This the relevant current hardware spec.

Hardware Overview:

  Model Name: iMac
  Model Identifier: iMac7,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
  Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
  Number Of Processors: 1
  Total Number Of Cores: 2
  L2 Cache: 4 MB
  Memory: 4 GB
  Bus Speed: 800 MHz
  Boot ROM Version: IM71.007A.B03
  SMC Version (system): 1.20f4

Graphics/Displays:

ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro:

  Chipset Model: ATI,RadeonHD2600
  Type: Display
  Bus: PCIe
  PCIe Lane Width: x16
  VRAM (Total): 256 MB
  Vendor: ATI (0x1002)
  Device ID: 0x9583
  Revision ID: 0x0000
  ROM Revision: 113-B2250F-219
  EFI Driver Version: 01.00.219
  Displays:

  Main Display: Yes
  Mirror: Off
  Online: Yes
  Quartz Extreme: Supported
  Built-In: Yes

The CS6 website says, it requires:
- Multicore Intel processor with 64-bit support
- OpenGL 2.0–capable system.

I am currently running 10.8 on my laptop which has the following display
card.

NVIDIA GeForce 9400M:

  Chipset Model: NVIDIA GeForce 9400M
  Type: GPU
  Bus: PCI
  VRAM (Total): 256 MB
  Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de)
  Device ID: 0x0863
  Revision ID: 0x00b1
  ROM Revision: 3427
  Displays:
Color LCD:
  Display Type: LCD
  Resolution: 1280 x 800
  Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB8888)
  Main Display: Yes
  Mirror: Off
  Online: Yes
  Built-In: Yes

But when I look under System Information/Software/Frameworks, it says:

OpenGL:

  Version: 1.8.6
  Last Modified: 09/10/12 7:35 PM
  Kind: Intel
  64-Bit (Intel): Yes
  Get Info String: OpenGL 1.8.6.1.0
  Location: /System/Library/Frameworks/OpenGL.framework
  Private: No

Is there anyway to confirm if the version 1.8.6 mentioned here is the same
as OpenGL 2.0–capable system? How does one confirm the same before
proceeding?

Any help or pointer in this direction would be great.

Thanks

Regards

Rishi
