Not a chance they are going back up.

"I can't help thinking that it's a real shame for the Stretford End to lose
some of its own character just because
 of a protest against Glazer."

needs must. JUST because of a protest against Glazer? is that all? a minor
disagreement? is that all it is to you?

"Also, given the amount of adverse publicity, I don't think anyone in the
country is daft enough to think that by keeping up the flags (or indeed
putting replacements
up) we are tacitly approving the takeover! Our opposition to Glazer is
obvious and, thanks to SU, IMUSA and the others, will not go away."

How is the opposition to Glazer obvious within the stadium? It seems to me
that the majority who have kept going have rolled over and taken it. Those
who want to show their opposition within the stadium have had their morale
crushed by the actions of the rest. Also, the majority of the country DO
think that United fans have acepted the takeover as that is what the media
portray.

The fact is that the removal of the banners is the only way that I can see
that a visible and relevant protest can be seen on matchdays within OT. For
these to be replaced speaks of the actions of those fans who either don't
care who owns the club or those who pretend to be anti-Glazer but can't make
the hard choices and prefer to bury their head in the sand.

I have no issue with any United fan who says they are not bothered who owns
the club- they are being honest. I have an issue with those fans who claim
to be anti-Glazer and then seek to help him through actions such as this.
For example the new banners statement the other day said they would not be
contacting Century Radio to publicise the statement. Now how bad is that for
a token gesture? they will help Glazer portray that it is business as usual
but then pretend to boycott his sponsors? Be honest with yourself. If you
don't care who owns the club then fine. If you do care, then actions speak
louder than words.
