Architecture Students Shine in Mumbai Event

MUMBAI, India, Feb. 3--Iranian architecture students won top awards in 
an international student design competition organized by International 
Association for Humane Habitat (IAHH).

The jury of the annual design competition, which was hosted by Rizvi 
College of Architecture in Mumbai, met on January 25 and 26 prior to the 
8th International Conference on Humane Habitat to evaluate 22 entries 
from Austria, Chile, India, Iran, Japan, Mexico and Pakistan.
According to an email sent to Iran Daily by the convener of the 
conference and founder president of the IAHH, Akhtar Chauhan, the theme 
of the conference and the competition was ’shaping sustainable work 
communities and humane work environments’.

The first prize of Rs. 50,000 was won by students from Islamic Azad 
University, Iran. The winning team included Navid Rouhi Broujeni, 
Niloufar Khalooesmaily, Mahsa Mehrpour Darestani and Fuad Habibi.
The second prize of Rs. 25,000 went to an entry from Chile while the 
third prize of Rs. 15,000 was won by students of Tabriz Islamic Art 
University, Iran.

In addition to the top winners, entries by Marzieh Emami Maybodi from 
Iran’s University of Science and Technology, Ailar Yapang Gharravi of 
Tabriz University of Islamic Art, and Mostafa Gholipour Gashniani of Iran’s

University of Science and Technology were also highly evaluated at the 
event.

The panel of jury comprised of experts from India, Iran, Egypt, Saudi 
Arabia and France.

Rizvi College is hosting an exhibition of the entries which will 
continue until February 5. The exhibition will then be taken to many 
other Indian cities before traveling abroad to France, UK, Austria, 
Germany and Iran.
