The problem is that it turned into requests for mail filtering, frequent alias updates, SPAM, and ... perhaps unique to Eclipse, some (actually, many) of our Member companies insisted their committers use their corporate email address (no gmail) for community recognition.

I'm not opposed to reopening the issue -- the first step is (almost alyays) to file a bug (against Eclipse Foundation > Community > Mail) and gather support/interest from the committer community.
