That option (on http://portal.eclipse.org) is available only to members of the various PMCs. I believe that the only practical use for that functionality is for a PMC member to retire inactive committers on behalf of the project lead.
The feature used to be more meaningful, but we've been moving the functionality that had been made available with this feature either into the PMI or the EF Accounts. Migrating and retiring the portal is a medium priority task that we're chipping away at. The root issue report that we're using to track this effort is here https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=469321 HTH, Wayne On Tue, Oct 31, 2017 at 11:22 AM, Kevin Sutter <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi, > I noticed on my Eclipse foundation portal page, I have an entry similar to > this: > > "Masquerade as project lead for:" and then it lists an Eclipse project > with a button action for [become]. > > What exactly does this action do?
