________________________________________________ Hello current ASHA members and fellow students, As the new term begins, ASHA-OSU is continuing to look for new members. ASHA is a student group on campus that is dedicated to supporting basic education in India. This is done through a number of fundraising events throughout the year. The first meeting of spring term will be held on Monday, April 3 at 7 pm (exact location TBA). This will be an informational meeting and we encourage all who are interested to attend. If you are unable to make this meeting, but still would like to be a part of this community service group, you must send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] indicating your interest, and you will be put on the mailing list. Those who are already on the mailing list currently must also attend this meeting if they wish to remain on it. Again, if you can't make it, please send a note to the above address. Those neither attending the meeting nor sending a message will be removed from the current mailing list. What follows is an excerpt taken directly from the ASHA brochure that explains the purpose of the group: ASHA is a non-profit voluntary organization dedicated to support basic education in India ... main object is to break the vicious cycle of child labor and illiteracy in India. We provide financial support to several non-profit, grass root organizations in various parts of India which provide basic education to children who otherwise would not have access ... Please join ASHA and help us in this worthy cause. Thanks and hope to see you on Monday. Chak Ramanujam, ASHA-OSU president
