Hello all, My name is Chak Ramanujam and I am the president of an organization on this campus called ASHA-OSU. The ASHA chapter here at Oregon State U. is one of many around the nation. This club serves to help underprivileged children and schools in rural India. We accomplish this by conducting various fundraisers throughout the school year and sending one hundred percent of the collections to an Indian school of our choice. Although the club's members spend a part of the time helping out at the fundraisers, an equal or greater amount of time is spent deliberating on different school proposals, in an effort to make sure that we fund the school that is most in need but also the one that will make the most of our donation. ASHA's first introducatory meeting of this school year will be held this Monday (Nov. 6) at 5 pm. The location is Fairbanks Hall, Rm. 304 and the meeting will last no more than 45 minutes (if the front entrance is locked, the back one will still be open). I encourage any of you who are interested in helping out for this worthy cause to please attend the meeting. There needs to be a significant amount of interest and help from the students here to make the work effective. A few people alone cannot do everything. Feel free to contact me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] if you have any questions or would like further information. Hope to see you all there, Chak
