I am Sumantro and I have been an intern at Red Hat working on tasks pertaining to Fedora QA.
During my on-boarding I observed that there is a lack of well designed content available to anyone who wants to get started. So, I put together a draft plan and discussed with Sudhir to begin work on this. The first part of the plan was to produce content ready for publication into Fedora Magazine and other sites : [1]Blog http://sumantrom.blogspot.in/2016/03/getting-started-with-fedora-qa-series-1.html http://sumantrom.blogspot.in/2016/03/getting-started-with-fedora-qa-series-1_31.html http://sumantrom.blogspot.in/2016/04/getting-started-with-fedora-qa-series-2.html http://sumantrom.blogspot.in/2016/04/release-validation-testing-in-fedora-qa.html [2]DZone https://dzone.com/articles/fedora-update-testing-with-bodhi-fedora-qa https://dzone.com/articles/release-validation-testing-in-fedora-qa [3]C# Corner http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/article/fedora-update-testing-with-bodhi/ http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/article/release-validation-testing-in-fedora-qa/ [4]Red Hat Developer http://developers.redhat.com/blog/2016/05/06/fedora-update-testing-with-bodhi/ http://developers.redhat.com/blog/2016/05/03/getting-started-with-release-validation-testing-in-fedora-qa/ http://developers.redhat.com/blog/2016/05/17/smart-light-with-arduino-in-fedora/ http://developers.redhat.com/blog/2016/04/26/fedora-media-writer-the-fastest-way-to-create-live-usb-boot-media/ [5]Fedora Magazine https://fedoramagazine.org/release-validation-testing-fedora/ During these planning and discussions, Sankarshan has also participated in providing feedback and helping me to fine tune the plans to ensure a good participation in the test day [6]Test days https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Day:2016-04-19_Fedora_Media_Writer https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Day:2016-05-16_Workstation_Graphical_Upgrade [7]Blog of a participant http://welinux.blogspot.in/2016/05/fedora-24-graphical-upgrade-test-day.html [8]Result page showing participation for Fedora Media Writer Testday http://testdays.fedorainfracloud.org/events/6 [9]Result page showing participation for Graphical Upgrade Testday http://testdays.fedorainfracloud.org/events/8 At present I am working together with a small group on interested participants and we have regular sessions (at the office where I am based out of) to facilitate a better and faster route to getting meaningful contributions. Other than this, my personal contribution include Release Validation testing [from Fedora 1.2 Alpha to 1.6 Beta and bunch of Nightlies] and Update Testing, taking charge of Test Days and hosting them ; at least once every month (gathering 40-50 testers each time),participating Cloud test day and i18n test day. I believe that this opportunity has provided me with a good understanding of the Project, the vision and our specific approach to produce good software while being excellent to one another. I am interested in applying to the Fedora Ambassadors program because I believe that I can align my work and focus to continue the goals of the program itself. I am looking forward to feedback and a possible connection with a mentor who can guide me. _______________________________________________ india mailing list [email protected] https://lists.fedoraproject.org/admin/lists/[email protected]
