I find it kinda ... interesting, to say the least, that on booting the LiveCD I am able to pick out of a large selection of keyboard layouts. Even more intriguing is the fact that they ... don't work. Or, at least, one of them doesn't, and I'm too lazy to have a look at all the rest. (For some peculiar reason, I have become quite accustomed to the Icelandic keyboard layout.) This is not an issue.
What confuses me is that post-install, the tricks I usually use to persuade uncooperative Xs to give me my keyboard layout, doesn't seem to work. Since I haven't seen any commentary on this sort of issue here, I get the feeling that I'm somewhat isolated in my problem, which is, in short: How the devil do I get X to fix my keyboard layout?
