Upon first glance, it looks very good. A couple of preliminary thoughts: 1. The overall design is as close to an optimum as I can think of (& I have been doing Linux desktops for about 10 years). Please keep it that way. This design is simple enough so that it will also fit the 7"-9" UMPC screens that are expected to become very popular. 2. For "Office", make sure that it can go directly to Writer (as I remember this is the current setup, thanks) instead of having to go thru a list of steps before you can open a new document (as many other LiveCDs do). 3. Will Input Method be available in 1.0? If so, it should be in one of the pop-up windows. 4. Thunderbird is much more preferable over Evolution. 5. Many Windows users will not move to a different OS unless it has Solitaire. Is there any quicky way to add Solitaire to Solaris? 6. Re GNOME vs KDE, the latter is changing so frequently, translations will be a nightmare. Indiana should always keep multi-lingual capability in mind, and at least in this regard, GNOME prevails over KDE. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ indiana-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/indiana-discuss
