I just tested OpenSolaris 2008.05 on a system with the Intel 82845G/GL video chip and the i915 Xorg driver.
skyrocket worked fine in full screen mode from the screensaver GUI. Works fine with the i195 video driver. fireworkx gave similar performance results as the Nvidia driver.
