Hi Leal,
Not all Solaris features are available in OpenSolaris (especially
encumbered features). The Caiman Automated Install project[1] will address
the lack of JmpStart in OpenSolaris.

where can I get more information on these "encumbered features" . It is better to know ahead of all the potential pitfalls rather than running into one after the other. This could be a good candidate to include in the 'Release notes'.

 Hello all,
I did see two messages about "flar" and "jumpstart", and seems like
Indiana/Opensolaris in this time will not going to support this
features...
 So, my question is:

"Indiana/Opensoaris distro is supposed to integrate all gnu stuff, and
to have a robust package manager and a better installation experience,
AND be compatible with ALL Solaris features'?

I agree that "flar" can be a "nop" because of the zfs snapshots, and
send/receive... but, what you can tell about it?

Ps.: I did read the Ian's proposal and a lot of stuffs about the
goals for Indiana, but these emails really confused me.

 Thanks!

 Leal.
