Regarding the py25 release I tested it, but the corresponding gnome-python-lib bits are missing. I've locally packaged py25 and all corresponding libs gnome/gtk/glib py libs, but wondering when it'll hit IPS? I specifically ran into a gtk issue where gtk.gdk.threads_init would fail.. There's also regressions in the latest versions of pygobject I need to make patches for and file bugs.
I also plan to take a poke at libffi with sun cc so we can have ctypes, but I have a feeling based on comments form others the inline asm may pose a challenge.
