Here's the result http://pastebin.com/f7c5fda82 On another note, if (from the text login) I follow http://blogs.sun.com/sch/entry/indiana_vesa_if_you_need but WITHOUT editing the resulting xorg.conf.new (that is, use whatever Xorg -configure created), I was able to get gnome desktop. Weird. glxinfo doesn't work, Alt-tab doesn't work, but at least I was able to run gui-install and ddu.py (which shows that the driver for my graphic card is i915).
