OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- Jordan has "temporarily" recalled its
ambassador to Israel Ali Ayed in the wake of growing popular outrage at the
Israeli occupation forces' bloodbath in the Gaza Strip.

The website of Hebrew daily Yediot Ahronot reported that Jordan had
summoned its ambassador to Amman and ordered him to stay there for "internal
reasons".

However, the paper quoted a diplomatic source as saying that Amman wished
not to raise a big fuss about the step.

It added that Ayed would return to Tel Aviv only when the Israeli war on
Gaza comes to a stop.

Many rallies and marches were organized in various Jordanian cities in
protest over the Israeli aggression Gaza. The rallies asked for the expulsion
of the Israeli envoy and the closure of Israeli embassy in Amman.
