Subject: QRE: [MUSLIM-UMMA] Why is Polygamy allowed in Islam - "Marry
Only 'ONE'" - Quran

Little knowledge is very dangerous than ignorance. Please do not
mislead the people. First learn and interpret the Quran. What quran
says marry more than one if you can consider all wife equally. But
every body knows that no one in this world can love or consider equally.
It means even Quran does not allow polygamy and people interpreting its
teaching according to their wishes.

Now when we go to Bible it was there in this world 400 years before
Quran and see the following to know what Bible both Old Testment and New
Testment says:

1) Old Testment

Genesis 1 of 27 says - God created man in his own image, in the image of
God he created him; male and female he created them

Genesis 2 of 18 says - The Lord God said, "It is not good for the man to
be alone. I will make a partner suitable for him"

Genesis 2 of 22 to 24 says - Then the Lord God make a woman from the rib
he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.

The man said, "This is now
bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman', for
she was taken out

Of man." For this reason a
man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife and they
will become one

                                            Flesh.

(So remember every where here God uses singular and God plan was for one
man one wife for one wife one man only)

2) New Testment

St. Mark 10 of 2 to 8 it says - Some Pharisees coming up asked Him
(means to Jesus), testing him, "Is it lawful for a man to put away his
wife" But he answered and said to them, "What did Moses command you"
They said, Moses permitted us to write a notice of dismissal, and to put
her away." But Jesus said to them, "By reason of the hardness of your
heart he wrote you that commandment. But from the beginning of creation
God made them male and female. For this cause a man shall leave his
father and mother, and cleave to his wife, and the two shall become one
flesh. Therefore now they are no longer two, but one flesh, what
therefore God has joined together, let no man put asunder."

For your information, there are many teaching in the New testament
regarding this but due to lack of time and space I cannot put it her.
According to marriage is a Sacrament which is un breakable till death
for any reason.

So try to understand all religions correctly.

Thanks and regards

* Only QURAN Says to 'Marry Only One': "Qur'an is the only
religious book, on the face of this earth, that contains the phrase
'marry only one'. There is no other religion or religious book that
instructs men to have only one wife."
* POLYGAMY Practice More Among Hindus than Muslims: The report of
the 'Committee of The Status of Woman in Islam', published in 1975
mentions [Page Nos 66-67] that the percentage of polygamous marriages
between the year 1951-1961 was; 5.06 among the Hindus while only 4.31%
among the Muslims.
