Your Canna is a horticultural one. It is cultivated for beautiful
flowers and leaves, sometimes variegated. There are a large no. of
horticultural varieties. Wild Canna, (C. indica ,Syn. C. orientalis),
has small finger like flowers. Interestingly , indica or orientalis
are both misnomer, as it comes from S. America (needs confirmation).
