Gerbera or Orchids can be kept over a month (attaching glass tubes with feed chemicals at the bottom of the stalk, the technique employed by flower exporters and the florists). Vas life of most cut flowers can be enhanced by changing water every day and keeping away from sun and wind. Good results are often reported if sugar or aspirin is added in water
