Required urgent help regarding CAGED BIRDS!!
We are in the process of making a slide show on caged birds for students (under
educational awareness programme lecture on 8th nov)……so would be very thankful
if you can spare some of your time and clear our doubts and answers so that
slide show and brochure for the same can be made ……..
1). How many birds percentage die in transportation ?? from destination to
source??
2). Are they kept hungry during transportation ??
3). Are they kept in proper cages during transportation??
4). Do the hunters catch young baby birds or matures too ??
5). Which Indian species are the most kept in households other than the rose
ringed parakeet ???
6). Which species have been drastically effected by this???
7). Can we do something about the exotic birds which are being sold in open
markets and which are not covered under the WPA,1972 ? Are there any Laws
protecting these exotic species??
8). How much distance in flight does a rose ringed parakeet cover daily(approx.)
9). Also like the way we have exotic caged species openly sold in India are
Indian birds also sold as exotics in other parts of the world???
It Would be of great help if you all can put in your feedback and help us in
our endeavour to stop the illegal trade in birds and eradicate it from grass
root levels in rajasthan.
