Dear friends, Indiantreepix Database upto Oct. 30th, 08 in Excel (around 1.77 MB) is finally ready. It is available under file section at Indiantreepix home page: http://groups.google.co.in/group/indiantreepix. It has about 865 species of trees & plants in it, which goes on to say how much data we are sharing & accumulating for benefit of members. It is almost like a desktop book for whatever we are sharing, with most useful links put in along with Indiantreepix links, to know any details just by a click of the mouse. Try Edit--> Find to find any word/ name in this database, as it is alphabetically arranged by scientific name only, with synonyms also thrown in where ever possible. Spreadsheet can be manipulated by the members in what ever manner they want. Family names are given in a separate column so that everything can be sorted out family-wise, if one wants to find out the plants in a particular family. I think this will be a great help to all the members in one way or the other. It is brought out for educational purposes only. There are going to be certain mistakes & inaccuracies. Members are requested to point them out to me for corrections. I have also started putting special articles like 'PICKING SEEDS' , 'My Dream Garden' etc. & unided plants at the end of the Database starting with Zz....
